We have survived our first movie as a family at the theater! Well kinda… First we ended up picking a really bad time to go to the movies. We chose the noon showing on a Saturday. It was not only full but it was also little man and little lady’s nap time. Thank goodness for all the snacks we bought popcorn is always a favorite and I did spoil them with some M&Ms. Little man and I used them to learn colors while the previews were on which might I add take twice as long in a kids movie. There were some technical difficulties with starting the movie on time it was actually 10mins late. Many kids grew restless fast. I almost threw the towel in and just walked out. Little man was actually really good and enjoyed the whole experience. Little lady well, she was over the movie 30mins into it. She kept trying to talk to the kids behind her. She demanded more “pacorn” and even managed to drop our water on the floor. She kept going from her seat to hub's or my lap. The last 20 minutes of the movie she managed to fall asleep in my arms which was perfect.

Unfortunately The hubs and I feel the movie was not so great. As I mentioned we were so excited to see Cars2. The kids had been raving about the movie and were huge fans of the first one. The movie was OK. I mean it was cool for adults but for the kiddos not so much. There was a lot of guns, and violence. The hubs especially is very anti guns and violent stuff in the house since he grew up the same. The part I disliked the most is where they used ships that looked like NAVY SHIPS and the ships played bad guys. You know this raised my eye brow because we are an ex-navy family. I just felt it could have been any other ship. I know any navy child would have spotted that as daddy or mommy's ship. The details were pretty head on. Though the ships were just a small part of the movie and I'm probably being over sensitive about it, I'm not sure if I'll be purchasing it when it comes out DVD. Overall it was an OK movie but I would have preferred a cute story instead of the action and violence.
PS. I failed to document the kids 1st movie with a picture because our phones are useless in the dark. Maybe next time I'll bring my camera with me.
Also, we are off to the shore with some friends I'll update on our outing later this week.
Happy Monday everyone!
