We were recently sent the new Mazola® Sobrecitos® which come in 2 different flavors, Chicken and Tomato. While my grandmother, who is famous for soups and strews, didn't use these when she cooked it definitely made my soup taste so delicious and authentic! I am sure my grandmother would have approved.

And so, I reintroduced the kids to one of my childhood favorites: Macaroni Soup/ Sopita de Coditos.
To get started here is what I used:

1 cup of Whole Wheat Elbow Macaroni | 1 Mazola® Sobrecitos® of Chicken flavor bouillon | 2 Tbs. of Mazola Corn Oil |
1 small tomato sauce | 2 1/2 cups of water
Let's get started:

1- In a pot, Add the oil and med-high heat and add the macaroni
2- Fry the macaroni until it turns slightly light color
3- Add the tomato sauce can and stir. Once it bubbles proceed to next step
4- Add the Mazola® Sobrecitos® in chicken flavor
5- Add the water slightly cover with lid and
6- watch for it to boil and lower heat to med- low
7- Once it boils again and the macaroni is well cooked it is done.
The kids enjoyed a delicious lunch. I loved that Mazola® Sobrecitos® made it easy to make this soup just 1 packet=1cube. The Sobrecitos dissolved instantly with no clumps in sight!

ReplyDeleteMmm...this soup sounds like the perfect thing right now. And I love that you make it just like Sopa de Fideos (I'd never thought of using any noodle other than the tiny ones this way, but I will next time)! Thanks so much for stopping by my place, so happy to "meet" you! =)
ReplyDeleteI would like the Chorizo Mexicano Casero Bajo En Grasa.

Girl, those kids of yours are just too cute. I'd cook anything for them! GL to all entrants. Sure makes cooking easy and fast! I haven't used those packets in a long time but I know they offer good flavor!
ReplyDeleteHow cool is this. I've never seen these sobrecitos.
ReplyDeleteOh! I want to try this recipe. I love soups, but don't make them very often. They're great, though, in the winter! Thanks for sharing, Ruby!
