Nich Mommy the conference made for moms like you and me!
Thanks to Nadia, founder of Niche Mommy, I was given the opportunity to speak at the first annual Niche Mommy Conference. I was excited to attend especially because it was being held in NOLA! I had never gone to New Orleans but I had always dreamed about going to the famous Bourbon street. Thanks to blogging I now had a chance
The conference started with a welcome reception where I got to mingle and hug my bloggy friends and of course meet new ones too!
The next day Ted Rubin started our day with a great talk about the return on relationships. Ted is an amazing speaker and friend. He is authentic and personal and I appreciate hearing him speak. While hearing him speak he told a story about being stuck on Jetblue flight and how he reached out to them via twitter. He became the liaison between those stuck on the grounded flight and those over at Jetblue. I tweeted Jetblue to let them know Ted was speaking highly of them and they replied. Talk about brands doing it right in social media!
I also attend my amiga Dariela’s Session on Photoshop. I have been self taught so I was looking forward to learning from the pros. Dariela and her sister Dariana are the amazing duo behind Dari Design Studio! I had such a great time learning with them. They also teach classes online so if you are considering some online photoshop help I highly recommend them!
I also sat in on:
Become a Niche Rock Star: How Focusing Your Message Can Grow Your Audience: Laura Fuentes, Tamara Floyd
These ladies are inspiring. They are their Niche and they own it! I learned a lot from them in being clear with my readers and my mission. The key is also consistency! Tamara and I have become great bloggy friends I admire her!
and
Gone in 60 Seconds: Perfecting Your Media Pitch Workshop: Divina Rodriguez, Esti Berkowitz
One thing I’ve struggled with is my Pitch for the past 2 years I have grown but still I don’t think I’ve perfected it! Divina is a great bloggy friend we met last year and she has been an amazing supporter. She had an excellent exercise that allowed me perfect my pitch and get feedback from those in my group during the session. I really enjoyed it!
The next morning during breakfast I heard the brilliant Dr. Daisy Sutherland Speak on “Letting Go of Super Mom” something i have a hard time doing. I have an amazing husband who is an amazing father but sometimes I have control issues. I like things done a certain way and I end up overwhelming myself. Dr. Daisy made great points but the best one that has allowed me to let go is to actually make room for dad! Yes, Making room for time with dad whether it’s a date or just a late night talk. Making room for him has allowed me to give him a chance to help me and just let go.
I also attended Leveraging Brand Relationships for Conference Sponsorship and Other Paid Opportunities as a Multi-Cultural Blogger with Joscelyn Ramos Campbell, Sili M. Recio, and Yadira Ambert
I learned about why as a multicultural blogger it was important to reach out and think out the box for opportunities that a brand may not see. I know what I can offer. I know why I am different and I know how I can help a brand succeed in my niche! Their presentation really got me thinking and I was so excited to apply what I learned to my journey!
Then it was time to speak! I was suppose to be on a panel during lunch but things changed and I couldn’t have been more excited. The man I like to call my Mentor, invited me to jump on his session. I was honored. It Starts With You! with Ronny Mason was proof that what he spoke about was real and works!

I met Ronny earlier this year at SheStreams and there he awaken my talents. He taught me how goals were not only important but necessary and crucial to the success of any business. I wasn’t succeeding because I didn’t have a plan. My whole way of thinking changed. I am eternally grateful to him!
I loved hanging out and getting to know more of my online friends. I met some amazing people that I had been excited to meet! I even got to throw beads from the balcony like a true tourist on Bourbon street!
If anyone asks my favorite food I always say pizza. I am very picky so I don’t like to try new food things but in NOLA I had no choice. DOMENICA had amazing pizzas and I’m so glad I gave them a shot. I had the best WHITE PIZZA!!! It was so great that I had it twice in my short stay! AMAZING!!!!!
I cannot wait for next years Niche Mommy It will be held in NOLA once again. I am in complete love with this city I plan to return with the hubs. We are making this a mini vacation.
Disclosure: This is not a compensated post. I was however, provided with a conference ticket and hotel accommodations for being a speaker. The above are my true and honest opinions.
