During the holidays growing up,.I remember always sipping on some abuelita hot chocolate. It was one of my favorite holiday traditions. I want to continue that tradition with my family and this year I had to make it for the holidays!
As I was putting together our holiday must haves, I knew we had to have some hot chocolate but not just any, it had to have a twist. We decided on Peppermint Abuelita Hot Chocolate. It’s creamy, rich, and oh so sweet! It’s perfect for any holiday fiesta for sure!
To make some Peppermint Abuelita Hot Chocolate you will need:
Ingredients:
- 1- Carnation evaporated milk 12 fl oz can
- 1- Abuelita chocolate tablet
- Heavy Whipping Cream 16 fl oz carton
- 4 candy canes
- Whipped cream- optional for topping
Directions:
In a pot, on medium heat, add your heavy whipping cream and evaporated milk. Add your tablet of Abuelita hot chocolate and wait for it to dissolve by constantly stirring.
Once tablet of chocolate is almost completely dissolved, add 3.5 candy canes into the pot.
Bring to a low heat and stir occasionally
When the candy canes have dissolved your hot chocolate is ready and should be a light rose brown. Delicious!
Serve with whipped cream and break apart your leftover candy cane over the top.
Party Tip: Make a hot chocolate bar. Keep your hot chocolate warm in a crock pot. Have your guests add their own toppings:, candy cane, sprinkles, chocolate fudge, whipped cream, etc. The kids and adults will be sure to enjoy this holiday recipe!
Beware: Abuelita hot chocolate will develop a film over the top once it’s cooling. Simply reheat and serve.
