Eating with 2 little ones can be pretty entertaining. While others dread this time because clean up and keeping them still can be a hassle, we embrace it.
I still remember the days when the kids needed our full attention and would watch as dad or I cooked in the kitchen.
They soon grew up to start asking for certain things especially off our plates.
Lately, the conversations that arise from feeding something new to our kids are always hilarious. They seem to be very curious right now we enjoy the questions and treasure these moments dearly.
Just recently, while preparing a nice dessert and cup of hot chocolate for the family the kids decided they wanted to help. As always I like the kids to be hands on, even if it means taking out ingredients for our next recipe.
I was finishing plating our treats and serving out drinks when Little Lady quickly asked, “Mom, can I get Sour Cream?” I said “sour cream on dessert?” she replied “ya, I show you” I said “ok show me”
She rushed to the refrigerator to pull out the whipped cream
I looked at the hubs and said “hey can you help our daughter put the sour cream in her drink”
We later told little lady that in deed that white sweet stuff she loved so much on her hot chocolate was not sour cream but Whipped Cream. Another great learning experience during dinner. Oh the Joy!
You see, it’s the little things that make eating together so memorable.
The food is always amazing especially when the hubs cooks but being able to sit and talk with the kids before, during and after is just amazing.
I hope they grow to remember the great memories we’ve made over sour cream and hot chocolate.
